One more good news. Felice will participate in Photo Independent 2017, an international art fair bringing together those who love and collect photography and the artists who make it. She will be in the Los Angeles Center for Photography Booth with three photos that haven’t been exhibited before. So put on your calendar dates, April 21 -23, when the 4th Annual Photo Independent Art Fair will take place. This event will be part of Spring Art Week LA, which includes the Los Angeles Festival of Photography, Photobook Independent, Objects of Art Show LA and EXPO Contemporary, all taking place at The Reef, 1933 S Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. Paul Martineau, Associate Curator at the J. Paul Getty Museum will be reviewing all photographers and their booths at the fair and honoring one artist as Best of Show 2017. The winner will be awarded a solo exhibition in the 2018 fair.

It is time for news. Especially good news. And we have it: Felice’s artwork “Dahlia Field: was chosen through a competition and exhibited in the group show “More than one… at least double” in “Бартcелона” gallery, Belgrade Design District in Serbia.
More than one… at least double celebrates the fortunate incident of multiple exposure images during the contemporary era of photography. As photographic technology advances at a rapid pace we are relishing somewhat of a renaissance for the medium.
This exhibition was on display:
January 9-27, 2017

Molokai-MaidenswebI would like to share a wonderful interview ‘Lifescapes’: Photographer Captures Meditative Moments with a reporter from the Santa Barbara Independent, Alexandra Nicholson. She wrote in her article: “Seamlessly fusing person and place in a symbiosis of nature and humanity, photographer Felice Willat portrays meditative moments from her faraway travels in her artwork. Willat’s award-winning photography is enchanting as it communicates the quiet tranquility of cultural landscapes in Burma, Morocco, China, Vietnam, and Argentina.” To read more please click here.

Felice Willat Blue6
Dear Friends, I am excited to get an Honorable mention in the competition “The Color of Blue”, conducted by The World Photography Network. Here is a description of the show theme and the link to the PictureCompete Gallery, where my photo is posted: “The color of blue is the color of the sky and the color of the ocean. The color of blue is also the color of sapphires and the color of flowers. Whether it is azure, cobalt or cerulean it is a color of importance and beauty.” http://picturecompete.com/gallery

Dear friends, I am proud to announce that my photo –  “Molokai Maidens” has been chosen to be among the great photographs offered by Daniel Miller’s Your Daily Photograph site. As Daniel Miller commented: “Each photograph in this section was a winner of a past photography contest. We present our selected ‘winners of the winners’ in this section.

You’re in good company — in the recent past images from Henri Cartier-Bresson, Andreas Gursky, Richard Misrach, Andre Kertesz, Edward Burtynsky and other photography legends have appeared in YDP.”
